My name is Rosie and I'm a versatile blogger.

The rules are:
1)Thank the person that gave you the award.
2)Include a link to their blog.
3)Select 15 blogs to nominate for the award (which is a little excessive, so I'ma change that to 5 nominees...)
4)Tell the person who nominated you and your readers 7 things about yourself.

Thank you Ellie for giving me something other than revision to blog about. (Ooops I did it again). If you haven't seen her blog yet, then please get a life. COZ SHE'S AWESOME.

Rosie's 7 facts:

1. I know this will mean nothing to you guys, but I think I'm in love with a boy and I need to get it off my chest. Either this or shout it from the rooftops. I don't know his name, but I sat opposite him in the library once, he wears a denim jacket and has very impressive facial hair. Not weird and pubescent-y like most guys my age, but like, actual designer stubble. Oh god, I hate that phrase.

2. I don't understand how to use Twitter or Tumblr, but I'm trying to learn. I swear.

3. I don't know where I've got my English accent from. Probably watching too many period dramas.

4. I think Jim Morrison is one of the most interesting people to have ever walked this earth. Especially because when The Doors first got together, Jim was so shy that he turned his back to the crowd when he sang. I wouldn't complain, I mean, check dem leatherz.

5. I get so jealous of my fellow bloggers because they are so effortlessly cool and talented. And I'm me.

6. I pre-ordered Vampire Weekend's new album as soon as I could. And it will arrive this week. And I'm dying with anticipation.

7. I frequently quote Austin Powers, but apparently I'm the only one who's seen it.

The blogs I shall nominate are:

Laaaaast niiiite, sheee saiid, oh blah blah de blah

Last night I stayed up until 2.00 am because I am having cray cray insomnia. And when I do get to sleep I keep having dreams about toilets. WHYYY! So to calm me down I made a few collages. Here they are.

Oh, and Tavi replied to my comment on Instagram and I died a little bit. Even if its just an emoticon.

Ceci n'est pas un post sur la revision.

Hey friends, I hope you are all revising hard. I'm not. My existence these days seem to consist of staring out the windows and occasionally leaving the house for college or work. But alas, summer is here. I just wanted to check in really, show I'm not dead and will return to blogging once my exams are over. I have so many things I want to do in the summer, mainly camping, visiting the David Bowie exhibition and learning to drive. What are your plans?

Psychology is calling, so I'll leave you to listen to the sound of waves.
I mean, WAVVES.

Paisley.

Shirt - H&M
Skirt - Urban Outfitters
Shoes - Topshop

I'm trying to break in these Topshop loafers because they might look pretty, but man, I can tell they're feet destroyers. Also, the sun is so bright that my legs look flawless. They're not, I haven't shaved them in forever.

Slouch.

Dress - New Look
Shirt - H&M
Sunglasses - ASOS

I still haven't really gotten over seeing Little Comets last week. I guess I'm showing myself up as being a concert virgin. They were just SO AMAZING. I can't stop listening to them. I think I will have to see them again when they tour next. Apart from that, my life has become so routine and dull that I'm even boring myself to death. Oh, but this dress I'm wearing is really similar to the ones in Topshop but is half the price. The quality isn't as good, but you could save yourself a pretty penny. Just thought I'd mention that.

I'll go now.

Little Comets IN MY FACE.

This year, I will be turning 18, and I made a sort of list of things I wanted to do before I officially became an adult. I've held back on a lot of experiences people my age have because I'm quite stubborn and if there's any way I can openly avoid conforming, I will. So, I've never been drunk, been to a house party and I've only recently started wearing make-up. But sometimes the opportunity for some experiences has just never arose. For example, I've never been to a gig. UNTIL NOW!

I have, in some way, been live-musically deflowered. And it feels amazing. I went to see Little Comets, a band that I've loved for a while now, in Cardiff with my pal Mabel. There were two support bands, The Crookes, who were really good, but their recorded music sounds nowhere as good as live. The other band I can't remember, um, which makes me feel bad.

Moving on... We secured our place in front of the stage. Little Comets were within touching distance - so tempting. I hadn't got the hang of bopping to music. Like, what do you do with your arms? But, I did my best. Beer was spilt on my legs. We were knocked about by some drunkards dancing awfully beside us. But none of that mattered because the music was incredible. Everyone went wild when they played Dancing Song and One Night In October.

Oh the excitement

Myself and Mabel. I will only take this down if she tells me, so lets hope she doesn't read this!
The Crookes were supporting

ROB'S SMILING RIGHT AT ME.

To top it all off, WE MET THEM. I couldn't contain myself. They decided to not do encores, but me and Mabel hung around the stage just in case. The drummer came out, and we word vomited on him. Then when we realized they really weren't going to come back out, we headed for the exit. Only to find Rob and Matt chatting to the fans. WHUT! I was my usual sappy self and could only manage a feeble, "can I have a picture with you", but Mabel was a cucumber, thanking them for writing Violence Out Tonight, which is about rape, and it's just nice that they are successful men writing songs about women's issues. I possibly told them I loved them in all the excitement.

ROB and me. AHHH!
MATT and me. AHHH!!  (ignore post dancing sweaty face.)
And I also got my arms signed. YAY.
My work colleagues didn't approve. WELL SCREW YOU. I shall never wash these arms.

And so, to conclude, I think it's safe to say I had an amazing night, and I will never forget my first gig. Thanks Mabel, my guide. I've handily linked all the songs I've mentioned so that you can hear their awesomeness. Oh, and I've included my favourite song, Adultery, because the lyrics mention knickers. LOL.

One more thing, all the amazing typography you see everywhere on their merchandise and in the videos, IT'S ROB'S. BECAUSE BOTH HIS PARENTS WERE TEACHERS. AND HE TOLD US THAT. IN PERSON.

April Playlist - Nifty Fifties (and sixties)

1950s stockings advertisement.
(here)

I have a confession. I FREAKING LOVE THE FIFTIES (and sixties). "But women had no rights and their sole purpose in life was to cook and clean and make babies!" you scream.

Yeah, I know.

But let's get real, if women had the same rights as men all along, none of us would be the people we are today. I mean, most of our blogging community call ourselves feminists, because we have to actively do stuff to get equality. If we were equal all along, there would be no feminists. I don't think...

But that's not the point of this post. As you can see, it's a new month which means a new playlist for you and me. I chose music from the fifties because as I previously mentioned, I FREAKING LOVE THE FIFTIES (and sixties), and the music always sounds fresh and new and innocent, kinda how spring feels. I hope you enjoy it.
